Is it safe for Americans to travel to Medellin, Colombia?

I was there last year and found the city to be very safe. As with any large city, there will be dangers. Traveling in a group is better. Knowing spanish is a plus. In my opinion, you are safer in Medellin than in Mexico at this time. Have fun and enjoy. The city is very modern, relatively, and you should enjoy the climate.
