Do our preferences in indicate an actual inclination?

If a person gets off on a certain type of , does that mean that the person necessarily wants to engage in that depicted behavior in real life? For example if someone gravitated toward granny or daddy/daughter or snuff, does that mean that they want to have with an octogenarian, eff their daddies and kill someone? Or is all this just remain in the realm of fantasy?
