What can you tell me about MOS 94Y, (Army Ordinance Core)?

A beloved relative is leaving for BCT at Ft. Sill, OK, and then will go to Redstone Arsenal in Alabama for more training. After that, we don't know where he will be. What can you tell me about this MOS 94 Y? Sounds like it is one with a home base as opposed to being out in the field or in a combat situation. Is that correct? If you know something about this (especially if this is an MOS that is more or less likely to see actual combat than many others) would really appreciate you sharing. He's not a 'wuss', but we are :-) Just looking for info so that we can know what to expect for him. Or could make some guess about where he may end up.
